PODCAST INTERVIEW

The Hustle (podcast)

We’re kicking off 2024 the way we often do by hearing from a legendary producer. This year we get to hear from the great Chris Kimsey! Chris was closely tied to the Stones for many years, producing albums like Some Girls, Undercover and Steel Wheels but his genius has impacted many other greats as well. In this conversation we cover artists big and small like Killing Joke, INXS, Duran Duran, Marillion, Led Zeppelin, Escape Club, Diesel Park West, Psychedelic Furs, Billy Squier, Bad Co., Curt Smith, Peter Frampton and reggae artists like Jimmy Cliff and Peter Tosh. You’ll be knocked out by these stories and the breadth of songs he’s worked on. Enjoy!

Tim Hain & Billie Fox -THE CHILDREN OF UKRAINE

Mixed by legendary Rolling Stones’ producer Chris Kimsey, “The Children of Ukraine” tells the story of a young mother on a train, clutching her young child, expressing her fear and anger at having to flee the Russian rape of her homeland, leaving her husband, and daughter’s daddy, to “fight the oppressor. “

Watching her being interviewed on TV moved me to write and record the song, and to use it as a flag for raising funds to help the millions of innocent souls just like her.

It was recorded in my home studio with local musician friends Billie Fox on vocals, and Paul Davis on drums. I am blessed to have had the generous input of a top producer, and “top bloke” as we say in UK.

Docuseries on The Rolling Stones to air on BBC Two and EPIX

The Rolling Stones will help celebrate their 60th anniversary with an upcoming four-part docuseries on BBC Two that takes turns focusing on the band’s most iconic members, with in-depth portraits of singer Mick Jagger, guitarists Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood, and the late drummer Charlie Watts.

“My Life as a Rolling Stone” will premiere in the UK on BBC Two, 2 July and in the US on EPIX August 7th. It is directed by Oliver Murray and Clare Tavernor.

Producers said in a statement that the series aims to “reveal The Rolling Stones’ creativity, their inspirations, and how they individually and collectively have overcome adversity, notoriety and personal demons to write the soundtrack of our times.”

The Rolling Stones are on the road with their 2022 European “Sixty” tour, but hit a wobble when Jagger tested positive for COVID-19, cancelling a few dates.
